Writing FreeBSD kernel modules

There's any number of online guides to writing kernel modules for Linux, but it's far less common to see one for writing FreeBSD kernel modules, so I was rather pleased to see this article from Free Software Magazine on that very subject.

The article starts with a guide to building FreeBSD kernels, before it launches into all the gory details of writing a skeleton module.
